Getting closer to day!

Of course we did – get the home of our dreams!! – I would not have started this blog if we had not!! I hate my desk by the way – can’t sit comfortably.

Anyway – back to it.
We finally had all our “ducks” in order to get the home of our dreams- what we had talked about for years. A small farm to call our own.
Then the fun began.
Logistics – I hate that word – timing – transport. How to move 10 years of collecting “stuff”. Kids stuff – treasures – kitchen – knick knacks – but worst of the worst- the hubby’s “collection.”.
My husband is a brilliant man. A tradesman. A welder/machinest by trade. Successfully self employed until the recession made him decide to close his shop and take a work a day job as a heavy equipment mechanic. If it’s broken -he can fix it!!! Brilliance personified! BUT a “collector”.
Years of owning his own shop have conditioned him to keep everything – and I do mean everything!!!
Most of the time it comes in handy however for a move – not so much!
The house to pack – easy – throw some shit in boxes – tape it up and scene.
The workshop – le sigh!
Coupled with the transport of the equipment – horses – did I mention I now have two? I’ll get to that – and tossing in a weeks holidays one week before close – YIKES what had we gotten ourselves into!!!
Our packing frenzy began months before close of course – and everyday – I would ask him – will you be ready for the move and every day he replied – YEP!.
Trust – key to any relationship – I knew come hell or high water – he would have it ready. Silly me!
We went to our beloved Ocracoke Island NC (check it out – heaven on the Ocean) for a week to relax and recharge. All the while – knowing what was facing us upon our return.
Hubby managed to purchase a tractor while we were away (a whole entry dedicated to that topic coming soon).
A lovely vacation – met some dear dear friends that live on the island year round.
Upon our return – the fun began!!
