Moving day has arrived!

My blog!!! – Lord it’s been busy as of late but I made a commitment to document my life on the farm so I have a few moments.
Where was I? oh yes – back from vacation and ready for action. Our vacation was lovely – thanks for asking.
Prior to leaving and after having made all the pertinent arrangements for our move – it was just a matter of getting all our ducks in a row and all our ducks to that damn farm!.
Movers were arranged cause we ain’t moving all that stuff ourselves – internet and television arranged – phone relocation – mail redirect. We already had a portable storage unit loaded with our “declutter” so I had to arrange to get that moved – hay purchased and ready to deliver and arrange transport for the horses.
A carefully orchestrated ballet of working parts that were one person to throw a wrench into it – they would surely face my wrath.
D Day arrived – Thursday August 29th – I booked the day off to have the internet and television installers come out and do their thing – it’s about priorities – need internet plus arranged to have the portable unit moved – that day went off fairly easily- my son was so excited that he insisted on staying at our new home ALONE that night – all by himself in the country – where it is dark. We set him up a camping cot and checked in on him later that evening – “sure is quiet mom – and I think I heard an owl.”
Both Hub and myself booked off the Friday to move the cats – oh yes- the cats – 5 of them to be precise and anyone who owns cats knows that A.getting a cat in a carrier is a task in itself and B. cats do NOT like to be moved or have their surroundings to change. It was surprisingly easy to move them – it was days before we actually saw them again. We then decided to move our bed so we could stay with the cats and the son that night.
Moving the bed was easy, however upon placing in in the master bedroom was disappointing.
This house was built in 1830 and fully renovated in 2009. It is truly a beautiful house with crooked floors and slanted roof. That was the issue – the room that was be our room – slanted roofs and our massive sleep number bed simply did not fit properly so my son made a huge score and got to have the master bedroom – with it’s oak floors and ensuite bathroom. I chide myself into saying – we did get the bigger room with more natural light – but I do love that room of his.
Saturday September 1 was the big day!!!
That will take up an entire entry so more to come.
